A13 traffic management
VolkerHighways is working with RMS on a Road and Tunnel Network Incident Support Unit traffic management contract. The A13 is a major trunk road linking Central London with East London and South Essex. RMS (A13) Plc manage 25km of the network on behalf of Transport for London (TfL). This includes the Docklands Roads, Limehouse Link and East India Dock road tunnels.
What we do
Our partnership involves responding to routine inspections and emergency callouts, as well as providing routine high-speed traffic management for highway and tunnel maintenance works undertaken by RMS throughout the year. We also complete traffic management designs across the network to implement safe systems of work.
Project successes
We have a dedicated team of ten fully trained Operatives and Managers/Supervisors working on the project at any time.
Using our vast knowledge and experience, we are involved in daily meetings to discuss on-going planned traffic management requirements. Our expertise is used to find smarter and safer ways of working on this extremely busy London arterial route into and out of the capital.
