RoSPA President’s Award
We have been awarded our fifth President’s Award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), after achieving 14 consecutive Gold Awards.
The esteemed RoSPA Awards program now celebrates its 68th year as the UK’s largest and most impactful health and safety programme. With almost 2,000 entries annually from over 50 countries, impacting over seven million employees, they offer a platform to spotlight an unwavering commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in health and safety.
British Safety Council International Safety Awards
The business has received our third consecutive Distinction Status at the International Safety Awards, from the British Safety Council.
This year, VolkerHighways achieved Distinction Status for its Oxfordshire street lighting term maintenance contract, reflecting the business’ ongoing commitment to health, safety and wellbeing during the 2023 calendar year. VolkerHighways was one of 269 organisations from around the world to be awarded the Distinction status.
Green Apple Award
Our Bath & North East Somerset HTMC has received a Green Apple Environmental Award for its effort towards setting up and operating in a sustainable way, providing ongoing respect and benefit to the local community and environment.
The award applauded the contract on its sustainability credentials with focus on their new low carbon office development, which has produced an 89% carbon reduction. This includes the installation of 132 solar panels and six EV charging points. The team has also made ecological enhancements such as the installation of a bat house and mixture of bird and bat boxes. They are also using a range of low carbon patching solutions, such as thermal road repair, across roads in Bath and North East Somerset.
International CSR Award
Our Medway team was awarded an International CSR Award from The Green Organisation. Their entry showcased their efforts in the ‘Community Commitment’ category, celebrating their passion for improving the local community. This is through education engagement, championing road and community safety awareness, enhancing and improving the natural environment and supporting local businesses, to name a few.
