VolkerHighways and West Sussex County Council to begin highway partnership
VolkerHighways has been awarded a Highway Maintenance Core Services contract by West Sussex County Council. The contract has an estimated combined annual revenue and capital spend of £16.5 million per annum and will begin on 1st April 2025 for seven years, with a possible extension of seven further years.
The business will be responsible for planned, responsive and emergency highway maintenance and improvement activities across the West Sussex region. Work will include structures, footway and winter maintenance, patching, resurfacing, verge, signs and marking maintenance.
Together with West Sussex County Council and our partners, we are committed to maximising the social value impact of the contract. This includes engaging and inspiring future construction professionals, aiding local charitable organisations, and responding to community outreach needs.
We are also committed to enhancing sustainability and biodiversity throughout the term of the contract and will engage in a number of activities to develop the contract over its full term.
